TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE FORMER URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL OF DALTON-IN-FURNESS FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL THE RESIDENTS OF THE DISTRICT WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID RESIDENTS.
