TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF STUDENTS OF THE SOUTH GLAMORGAN INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION BY AWARDING PRIZES OR SHCOLARSHIPS TO SUCH STUDENTS WHO HAVE ACHIEVED A HIGH DEGREE OF EXCELLENCE; OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SUCH STUDENTS WHO WOULD PROFIT FROM AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TRAINING OR TUITION IN THIS COUNTRY OR ABROAD AND WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE (OR BE PREVENTED FROM DOING SO BY NEED OR POVERTY); OR FOR THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF STUDENTS.
