Charitable objects
TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES, SO AS TO DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES THAT THEY MAY GROW TO FULL MATURITY AS INDIVIDUALS AND MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. THIS WILL BE FACILITATED BY PROVIDING: A. ACCESS TO THE “DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD SCHEME” AND SIMILAR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES DESIGNED TO OFFER PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. THIS WILL BE DONE BY RUNNING A ‘DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD SCHEME’ OPEN AWARD CENTRE IN THE CITY OF YORK. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE, AN OPEN AWARD CENTRE IS A CENTRE WHICH IS DIRECTLY LICENSED BY THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD SCHEME CHARITY TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE SCHEME TO YOUNG PEOPLE, AGED UP TO 25, TO DO A DOFE AWARD WHO COULD NOT ACCESS THE SCHEME THROUGH ANOTHER ORGANIZATION SUCH AS A SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY. B. ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITIES BY THE PROVISION OF GROUP TRANSPORT (MINIBUSES RUN UNDER SECTION 19 REGULATIONS) TO ORGANISATIONS CATERING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 25 AND ALSO DIRECTLY TO YOUNG PEOPLE FOR SOCIAL, DEVELOPMENTAL AND EDUCATIONAL REASONS. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE THE ORGANISATIONS WILL BE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE SUCH AS CHARITIES, CICS, SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER NON-PROFIT MAKING ORGANISATIONS SUCH AS SCOUT GROUPS.
