Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: TO SUPPORT THE ZAMBIAN NGO CONSERVATION SOUTH LUANGWA. CONSERVATION SOUTH LUANGWA UK WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CONSERVATION SOUTH LUANGWA (ZAMBIA) TO PROTECT THE WILDLIFE AND HABITATS OF THE SOUTH LUANGWA ECOSYSTEM. THE AIM IS TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT IN SOUTH LUANGWA THROUGH THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THREATENED NATURAL HABITATS IN SOUTH LUANGWA; AND THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF ENDANGERED WILDLIFE IN SOUTH LUANGWA; AND ADVANCING THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN MATTERS RELATING TO CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE AND NATURAL HABITATS IN SOUTH LUANGWA THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE ACTIVITIES OF RAISING FUNDS AND AWARDING GRANTS TO CSL TO ACHIEVE THAT WORK ON THE GROUND WHICH INCLUDES WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITIES, WILDLIFE RESCUE, ANTI-POACHING ACTIVITIES, INTERVENTION IN HUMAN-WILDLIFE CONFLICTS ETC. CSL ALWAYS WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL PARKS AND WILDLIFE. THEIR JOB IS TO SUPPORT THAT ORGANISATION, WHICH OPERATES ON LIMITED RESOURCES. CSL HAS BEEN IN OPERATION FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. IT HAS AN ANNUAL INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL AUDIT. IT HAS 120 FULL-TIME STAFF, WITH 93 COMMUNITY SCOUTS, 18 OF THEM FEMALE.
