TO PROMOTE THE PERMANENT PRESERVATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC GENERALLY OF THE COLLECTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS PLATES RECORDS AND MEMORABILIA OF AND IN RELATION TO CLEER SEWELL ALGER SENIOR AND JUNIOR 1819-1903 WHO LIVED IN DISS. TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION BY THE PROVISION AND EXHIBITION OF THE COLLECTION. TO PROMOTE RESEARCH INTO THE HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN GENERAL AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS THEREOF.
