THIS FUND WAS RAISED BY SUBSCRIPTION IN 1953 TO ASSIST PHARMACISTS SUFFERING DISTRESS AS A RESULT OF THE EAST COAST FLOODS ON CONDITION THAT ANY EXCESS SHOULD BE USED FOR SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS THE COUNCIL OF THE SOCIETY CONSIDER SUITABLE AND WHERE THE SOCIETY'S OTHER CHARITABLE FUNDS CANNOT BE USED. A FURTHER APPEAL WAS MADE IN 1956 FOR THE BENEFIT OF REFUGEES FROM HUNGARY AND EGYPT AND ANOTHER IN 1960 IN CONNECTION WITH FLOODS IN THE WEST COUNTRY AND WALES
