Charitable objects
TO OBTAIN FUNDS FOR THE ASSISTANCE OF THE MOST NECESSITOUS AND DESERVING CASES AMONGST THE MEMBERS, AND TO GRANT SMALL PENSIONS TO A LIMITED NUMBER OF DESERVING MEMBERS. TO GRANT PECUNIARY AID WHEN NECESSARY, TO THE WIDOW OR RELATIVES OF A DECEASED MEMBER. TO RESCUE (SO LONG AS THE FUNDS OF THE ASSOCIATION PERMIT) FROM THE WORKHOUSE OR FROM A PAUPER'S GRAVE, ANY OLD SAILOR, SOLDIER OR MARINE WHO, THROUGH NO FAULT OF HIS OWN IS REDUCED TO DESTITUTION.
