(1) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN MARINE AND FRESHWATER ENVIRONMENTS IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, THROUGH THE AWARD OF AN ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP; AND
(2) THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THREATENED AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS AND ENDANGERED AQUATIC PLANT AND ANIMAL SPECIES.
