TO RELIEVE THE NEED OF POLICE OFFICERS OR THEIR DEPENDANTS ARISING FROM THE SPECIAL HAZARDS OF POLICE DUTY OR WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED AS A RESULT OF SERIOUS ILLNESS
