Charitable objects
The objects of the CIO are to promote social inclusion for the public benefit of those persons primarily living within the Yorkshire Coast area who are registered, or eligible to be registered, visually impaired and/or hearing impaired and are more socially excluded from society or parts of society as a result of having a visual or hearing impairment. The CIO will further this by: [a] Providing activities which promote their independent living and involvement with others; [b] Providing information, advice and guidance on matters relating to visual and hearing impairment and [c] providing recreational facilities and activities. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with [section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005] and [section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008]
