Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS 1. TO ADVANCE PERFORMING ARTS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROVIDING DANCE AND PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES AND DIVERSE ABILITIES. FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLAUSE 3, ‘LEARNING DIFFERENCES AND DIVERSE ABILITIES’ MEANS PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED, OR ARE RECOGNISED, AS HAVING LEARNING, MENTAL AND/ OR PHYSICAL DISABILITIES. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
