THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN AND APPRECIATION OF STEEL PAN ORCHESTRAL MUSIC AND STEEL PAN COMBO MUSIC IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (1) PROVIDING TEACHING, WORKSHOPS, DEMONSTRATIONS, AND PRESENTATIONS OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCES BY STEEL PAN ORCHESTRAS AND STEEL PAN COMBOS; (2) COMMISSIONING NEW STEEL PAN INSTRUMENTS AND MUSICAL WORKS INCLUDING STEEL PANS; AND (3) CREATING A STEEL PAN ARCHIVE AND OTHER RESOURCES RELATING TO THE HISTORY OF STEEL PAN MUSIC.
