THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND FOR THE PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF THE HEALTH OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN BRIGHTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES FOR THE PRESERVATION AND TREATMENT OF ABDOMINAL DISEASE, IN PARTICULAR CANCER WHICH WOULD NOT NORMALLY BE PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY.
