(A) TO PROVIDE FOR THE RELIEF OF POVERTY BY THE PROVISION OF FUNDS FOR LEGAL SERVICES FOR POOR PERSONS IN COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM AND (B) TO PROMOTE RESEARCH INTO THE LAW AND PROCEDURE OF FOREIGN LEGAL SYSTEMS AS THEY AFFECT POOR PERSONS AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
