TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION BY REWARDING INITIATIVES WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE PAST OF THE UNITED KINGDOM THROUGH THE STUDY OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL MATERIAL OR METHODOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS. THE AWARDS ARE OPEN TO ALL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM.
