TO HELP TO RELIEVE HARDSHIP, DISTRESS, POOR HEALTH AMONG PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUFFERED BEREAVEMENT THROUGH THE DEATH OF A CLOSE RELATIVE OR FRIEND, BY PROVIDING SERVICES SUCH AS LISTENING, BEFRIENDING, ADVICE, INFORMATION, COUNSELLING, PRACTICAL HELP ON AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP BASIS; WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF AGE, RACE, SEX, DISABILITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR SOCIAL CLASS; TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC TO UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF BEREAVED PEOPLE INCLUDING THE SHARING OF INFORMATION ON GOOD PRACTICE WITH OTHER HELPING AGENCIES.
