1. TO ASSIST POLICE IN PREVENTING LOSS OF LIFE OR INJURY BY ATTEMPTING MOUNTAIN RESCUE OPERATIONS AND SIMILAR WORK IN THE PEAK DISTRICT AND OTHER AREAS TO WORK IN CO-OPERATION WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS HAVING SIMILAR INTERESTS AND OBJECTIVES.
