Charitable objects
The objects of the CIO are for the public benefit, the relief of the homeless, orphans, refugees or other individuals who are in need by reason of their age, disability, ill-health, financial or other social or economic disadvantage including but not limited to:- • Providing a platform to advance the education of the public and / or promote public awareness about the issues relating to the homeless, refugees, orphans and / or others in need; • Providing food and drink to the homeless, refugees, orphans or other individuals in need by reason being financially and economically disadvantaged such as those from low income households; • Providing essential items such as clothes, sleeping bags and sanitary items which are aimed at improving the standard of living and conditions of the homeless, refugees, orphans or others in need by reason of being financially and economically disadvantaged such as those from low income households; • Providing gifts and donations, such as toys and books to the homeless, refugees, orphans or others from financially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds; and • Providing funds to other charities and/or not-for-profit organisations, which support the homeless, refugees, orphans and/or those from financially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. These funds are used broadly to purchase items and/or provide services which are aimed at the improvement of the living conditions and / or standard of living of these groups. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
